Quick verdict: High-quality materials and strong magnets, but the design isn’t intuitive and feels cumbersome for daily use—especially at this price.Pros:Premium aluminum constructionStrong magnets that attach securelyClean, modern design that looks great on the phoneCons:Not intuitive to figure out how the rings unfold and adjustStrong magnets can cause the grip to shift and potentially scratch a caseFeels cumbersome for everyday useHigh price point raises expectations for usabilityFull Review:I really wanted to like this product because the build quality is genuinely impressive. The aluminum construction feels premium in the hand, the magnets are very strong, and the overall design looks sleek when attached to the phone.Unfortunately, the user experience wasn’t very intuitive. When I first opened the box, it wasn’t immediately clear how the rings were meant to unfold or rotate for use as a grip or stand. It took some experimentation to figure out how everything was supposed to move. The magnets themselves are very strong (which is good for stability) but when I first adjusted the grip, the way it shifted on the back of my phone actually ended up scratching my case slightly. After I figured out how to use the rings properly, it worked as intended, but the overall interaction still feels a bit cumbersome. For something designed for everyday use, I would expect it to feel effortless to deploy and adjust. Instead, it feels like something I’d have to consciously fiddle with each time. That’s a shame because the materials and visual design are excellent. At this price point, though, I’d want the usability to feel like a no-brainer.Because I still like the brand’s aesthetic and build quality, I decided to try the Aulumu G05 Air, which looks like it has a simpler design. I’m hoping it delivers the same premium materials with a more practical everyday experience.
This ring definitely has a solid construction. It feels strong and durable. The multiple rotation points makes it feel flexible and gives many possible positions, especially when you realize you can rotate it around the magnetic spot. The magnet is also very firm once it grips into a metallic surface. My only small concern is how tricky it can be to split open sometimes when it's folded closed. The metal hinges are tightly fitted, which is a great sign of good engineering, but sometimes when you want to open it up for holding, splitting the two pieces can be tough. Otherwise, this is perfect.

Here is my complete review of the Aulumu Magnetic Ring grip.First Impressions:The Aulumu G09 comes in simple, clean packaging and immediately feels premium. Despite being slim, the aluminum alloy construction feels firm and rigid, not flimsy at all. The black finish looks sleek and blends well with most MagSafe cases. It definitely feels more solid than typical plastic grips.Functionality:Attaching the G09 is effortless thanks to the very powerful MagSafe magnet. Once it’s on, it stays locked in place — no sliding or wobbling. The omnidirectional rotation is smooth and easy to adjust, and it holds angles well. Whether using it as a grip or a stand, it feels stable and secure.Design Highlights:What really stands out is how slim yet sturdy it is. Even though it doesn’t add much thickness, it feels rigid and well-built. The metal construction gives it a premium feel, and the rotation mechanism feels tight and controlled. The dual-sided magnetic attachment adds extra confidence during use.Usage Scenarios:I’ve been using the G09 daily for work, commuting, and watching videos. It makes one-handed use much easier, especially on larger phones. As a stand, it works great for video calls, streaming, and desk use. Since it’s slim, I can leave it on without it getting in the way.Comparative Value:Compared to plastic MagSafe ring grips, the Aulumu G09 feels like a big upgrade. The stronger magnet, rigid aluminum build, and slim profile set it apart. If you want a compact MagSafe ring grip that feels secure, premium, and durable, this one offers excellent value.
Unboxing ImpressionThe packaging was impressive and felt even more complete than expected. In addition to the metal rings for non-MagSafe phones, it includes interchangeable rubber finger grip inserts. The black and glow-in-the-dark white inserts are easy to swap and feel secure once installed.Functional ExperienceThe finger grip adds a lot of confidence when holding the phone, especially while standing. The hinges are stiff at first, but they loosen over time and feel smoother with continued use. The magnetic strength is strong and reliable, making it easy to attach the phone to different surfaces.Design HighlightsThe brushed metal finish looks and feels premium. All magnetic contact areas are covered with a rubberized surface, which helps prevent slipping and protects against scratches. Despite feeling very robust, the stand remains lightweight and comfortable to carry.Usage ScenariosI used this stand most often at the gym by attaching it to machines, which was extremely convenient. It also worked well as a regular stand on desks and other flat surfaces. I even used it with a phone that supports reverse wireless charging by attaching a metal ring to another device, which worked surprisingly well.Comparative AdvantagesAn extra advantage is that it works very well with other MagSafe accessories. Since it has a magnet on both sides, you can stack accessories together. I paired it with another Aulumu accessory and the setup stayed slim without adding much bulk. This should work with MagSafe accessories from other brands as well.Final ThoughtsA versatile, premium magnetic stand with strong magnets and smart design. Especially useful if you want flexibility across different daily scenarios.
I've bought from this brand before and I really like the update to their packaging. It looks like you could pull it out of a vending machine from 2035.I got the silver version of this stand mainly for the glow-in-the-dark loop. The stand itself is metal with a brushed finish along with some subtle markings on the surface. It looks futuristic and cool imo.The finger loop is silicon and glows enough to find my phone in a dark room, but I rarely use it and fold over one of the circles instead. The hinges and magnets are STRONG, and separating the two stand circles without pulling it off the phone was tricky at first, but the magnetized stand is my favorite feature of this grip. It can pretty much be set up anywhere you can think of, and at pretty much any angle and it will hold. I’ve stuck this thing onto my fridge, on gym equipment, on a filing cabinet, on a ladder, just about anything metal. And it of course works on any flat surface for portrait and landscape mode. It’s incredibly convenient.I’ve gone through a few phone grips over the years and this is one of the more versatile ones I’ve owned. Highly recommend it if you like the look, or want something magnetic. Only wish they had the glow-in-the-dark loop with the black version too.
