Lightweight but durable! Works great!
It is very light, easy to extend and lock. Easy to modify by switching the end pieces to opposite ends based upon how you want to use it. A previous model had the ability to adjust the clamping strength to the sliding barrel. This was a better model in that if the snap locks began to slip you could tighten the hex screws at the base of the snap locks to make it like new. I can't remember if it was more expensive or not. To be fair so far I haven't needed to use this feature. This is my third purchase. The first two had that feature this one does not. I have GoPro's & wands at two work sites. This new one is a spare just in case.
The quick-releases seem to work well, at least for now. One is already beginning to stick. The monopod extends past my eye level, which is great if you are using it on a slope. However, you need to use the enclosed allen wrench to take the entire head off in order to change the screw thread from 3/8 to 1/4. I don't think the head is as sturdy as the rest. I don't care for the strap; it is too long, isn't padded, and isn't adjustable. Having a rubber and spike foot is helpful, but there isn't any place to store the extra foot on the monopod. That means you need to take a dirty foot off and put it in you bag or pocket along with the allen wrench that you need to carry separately all the time.
This monopod has all the height you need and collapses down to a size that fits most photography backpacks. The included extra spike foot is nice as well as the interchangeable 1/4-20 and 3/8" camera mount screw. You can put a ball head on and now have the ultimate monopod! Very nice.
